Seasonal colours and textures
By Linda Parker
This time we’re bringing you news of a new collection of textured furniture, which fits in perfectly with an autumnal colour scheme. We also have some interesting suggestions for accessories and décor ideas to co-ordinate and contrast with these warmer looks.
URBAN MYTH INTRODUCES NEW TEXTURED KITCHEN FURNITURE
The latest additions to the collections at Urban Myth are textured finishes, and to mark the occasion, there is a new display area in the showroom, which is in London E4. Urban Myth specialises in bespoke kitchens and bedrooms, with a full design, project management and installation service. Shown here above, the new showroom, featuring Galvano Bronze textured doors, teamed with Marshwood On Track doors featuring a textured vertical line finish and Oribico Porcelain surfaces.
SYMMETRICAL PERFECTION WITH DOUBLE LAYER UPPER CABINETS
Urban Myth’s Head of Sales, Peter Hill says ‘For this wall, we’ve integrated two layers of lift-up wall units, featuring Blum fittings for effortless, smooth operation. The design elegantly frames the work area while providing additional accessible storage’.
THE DRAMATIC BANK OF OVENS BY MIELE
Continuing the symmetrical design, we’ve positioned a block of three Miele ovens and a coffee machines between two tall units. The Galvano Bronze doors are perfectly complemented by the sleek, bronze handleless system.
CHANNEL LIGHTING ADDS DEFINITION AND DRAMA TO THE WHOLE LAYOUT
The kitchen island boasts a stone breakfast bar and matching countertop, with a sleek 12 mm straight edge. Channel lighting enhances the drama of the design, making it a true focal point of the space.
THE URBAN MYTH MEDIA STORAGE AREA
Peter Hill explains ‘Opposite the kitchen, we created a stylish media storage area using the same materials. Marshwood On Track wall panels seamlessly link visually into a custom dining table, ensuring a cohesive and elegant design throughout the space, showing our clients what can be achieved to link kitchen, dining and living spaces’.
SUPER STORAGE OPPORTUNITIES
This view of the showroom allows clients to appreciate the detail of the built-up stone breakfast bar and the proportions and elegance of the cabinet layout as well as the capacity of the tall units. Peter Hill adds ‘Using Marshwood panels creates a flawless and cohesive design, with all the different elements working together to create an interesting and unique scheme’. The grandeur of this beautiful nine-light chandelier means that it’s very well suited to positioning over a breakfast bar, kitchen island, or indeed a dramatic dining table. It’s designed to look beautiful whether switched off in daylight or illuminated in the evenings. The Pazo 9 Light Textured Glass chandelier is available from the new collection by Lights & Lamps from October 2024.

LEOPARD PRINT LOVE BY ROCKETT ST GEORGE
It’s widely acknowledged in ‘fashion circles’ that leopard print can easily be considered as a ‘neutral’ as far as colour and pattern is concerned. So why not move away from the leopard print placemats, vases and scarves and go full-on with a leopard print wallpaper. Just the job to create a statement wall – whether it’s for a dining room, bedroom or downstairs cloakroom. Shown here, Wild Leopard Love Wallpaper by Rockett St George

Look out for a deeper dive into True Joy next month, but in the meantime we spotted this wonderful soft pink and yellow kitchen by The Life of Ply.
