Portuguese Sunday Lunch: Rabanadas (Dessert)
Our journey to find the tastiest food from around the globe leads us to Portugal for Sunday Lunch… For the Dessert we have Rabanadas – serves four people…
Ingredients:
- 1 French bread stick from the day before
- 3 dl milk
- 4 eggs
- 300 g sugar
- Cinnamon
- 1 lemon peel
- Oil (for frying)
Preparation time: 1 hours
Instructions:
- Boil the milk with 2 tbs of sugar and the lemon peel
- Whip the eggs very well
- Cut the bread into slices of about 1.5 cm and dip each slice in the milk first and then in the whipped eggs
- Fry the prepared slices in hot oil
- Serve sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar (or sugar syrup)
To drink: a nice Port
