Kartmasters 2013
Earlier this month I had the pleasure of attending the British Grand Prix!! Not Formula 1 at Silverstone but the British Grand Prix of Karting at the PF International Circuit near Newark…
Hear young drivers from the age of eight years upwards learn their skills and hone their race craft indulging in speeds of up to 80mph….
The racing is incredibly close with drivers changing places on almost every corner. Infact one of the finals climaxed with the top eight competitors crossing the line within five thousands of a second of each other!!
With this level of competitiveness it soon becomes apparent that superb engineering comes to the fore, each kart is meticulously prepared for action, they are regularly stripped down and rebuilt each time they return from the circuit.
The paddock area resembles an immaculate mobile business park catering for team workshops, hospitality and family motorhomes complete with awnings and patio areas…
As with everything quality always comes to the forefront in competition, precise engineering and attention to detail ultimately gives the edge over the other players in the field.
Just as in business, failure to prepare is actually preparing for failure, these teams don’t leave things to chance, they use the best possible materials available and employ the best possible people to make their preparations, always learning, developing and evolving to ensure success.
The perfect philosophy for a business partner….
Watching the young pretenders that weekend didn’t just provide great entertainment it also provided a great insight in how to achieve this, how to prepare, work as a team and do things properly….
