Cosy kitchens for autumn/winter 2024

By

Now that schools are back and uni students start their journey into independence, a new season begins. But don’t mourn the end of summer too much, as autumn/winter has plenty of cosy and cocooning colours, trends and looks to keep you comfortable.

Miele launches new Pearl Beige colourway

With beige tones set to be big news for interiors in 2025, Miele is launching a new Pearl Beige colourway for its top-of-the-range handleless ArtLine collection, which will be available from November 2024 and is designed in response to a demand for more warm and natural tones in the kitchen.

Combining a blend of grey and beige with metallic rear printing on white glass, these appliances will feature a gloss surface with subtle glittering effect. Perfect for installation within both light and dark kitchen cabinetry.

The collection will include a wide range of Miele’s high-spec appliances such as the H 7860 BPX oven, the DGC 7465 HCX Pro steam combination oven, the CVA 7845 coffee machine and integrated wine conditioner.

Nature’s Palette from Furniture Village

Furniture retailer Furniture Village is embracing autumn with four key looks, helping customers to transform their homes into inviting spaces they’ll long to retreat to.

One of our favourites – and perfect for kitchens and dining rooms – is Nature’s Palette. Combining the natural beauty of organic materials such as wood with earthy browns and vibrant greens, it creates a wholesome style that nourishes the soul.

“Inviting the grounding and nurturing influence of the outdoors into the home, our AW24 trend Nature’s Palette combines materials and colourways found in the natural world, for a look that is both rejuvenating and restorative,” says Shelley Cochrane, Accessories Buyer at Furniture Village. “Nourishing green tones and earthy brown hues are blended with natural wood and soft, supple leathers to create a cosy and cosseting space to retreat to as the nights draw in.

“As brown has emerged as a key colour trend for AW24, Nature’s Palette celebrates the rich tones of this warm and welcoming shade, whether through upholstered furniture or through wood itself, in its natural, unpainted state. The beauty of this look lies in its relaxed imperfection, from weathered woods to soft, buttery leathers, which age over time to grow even more beautiful.

“Curated open shelving complements this, putting treasured pieces on display to infuse the room with personality. Pattern shouldn’t be overlooked either – botanical print accessories tie the scheme together. And the perfect finishing touch? Plants and greenery, of course.”

M&S creates a casual sanctuary

Over at Marks and Spencer, this season is all about the Casual Sanctuary collection. Timelessly stylish and seamless to transcend from one season to the next, this range has a relaxed, contemporary feel blending a soft minimalist look with cosy layers and tactile materials. Its nod to mid-century design will complement all styles of property with a colour palette peppered with chequerboard designs, textured stripes and jacquard reversible prints.

Sophie Allport’s new seasonal prints

Homewares and lifestyle brand Sophie Allport has revealed their new collections for autumn/winter and we’ve instantly fallen in love with Sophie’s beautifully illustrative Woodland Friends and Snowy Owls designs.

Dress a rustic or country cottage kitchen with the Woodland Friends textiles – a homemade Roman blind at the window and a tea towel casually slung across the worksurface will instantly elevate a dark and cosy kitchen with brass finished taps, dark painted timber cabinetry and chunky brick window ledges.

Snowy Owls meanwhile are perfect for the coming festive season.
