A cut above the rest
Now that we’re all staying at home, we’re going to have a lot more time to do all those jobs that we’ve been putting off for ages. So along with doing a spot of decorating and DIY and giving the whole house a really good spring clean, I’ve decided that now is the perfect opportunity to have a sort out of all my kitchen kit, clearing out the clutter and keeping only the gadgets, small appliances, utensils and other bits and pieces that I really need and use.
My first task is to get all my kitchen knives out – I don’t know about you, but my collection, if you can call it that, consists of a random mix of old, blunt knives that struggle to even cut through a carrot. So, I am making it my mission to invest in proper, professional-quality knives that will make the food prep for all this home cooking a breeze. And this is why I will be checking out the Viners spring sale, which has some fantastic online offers right now until 14 April
Established in Sheffield in 1908, this family of silversmiths started out specialising in plated hollowware and were one of the first businesses to introduce new cutting-edge production techniques. After the First World War, they moved into cutlery and are now a leading brand offering innovative design alongside classic collections with cutlery ranges, cutlery sets, loose items, knives and knife blocks along with Assure knives featuring square tips and black non-stick coating.
I have my eye on their Chocolate 5 Piece Knife Block set, which is reduced in price from £120 to £60. The black handles look oh so sleek with the luxurious chocolate coloured blades, which come in a premium wooden block with a matt black finish. The double titanium coated blades give added durability and corrosion resistance.
Check out their Horizon Indigo 5 Piece Knife Block too, down from £75 to £37.50. Made from premium bamboo wood, the block features a pop of indigo blue with matching coloured knives with non-stick blades to improve cutting performance and textured handles for extra grip and comfort.
If you’re looking for a new cutlery that has a timeless look but modern feel, how about the Piccadilly 16 Piece Set, down from £35 to £26.25.
There’s sure to be a lot of household barbecuing going on in the coming weeks, especially if the weather stays fine. Viners’ Everyday 3 Piece BBQ Set is the perfect buy as it’s made from high quality stainless steel and comprises a fork, turner and set of tongs in a bag for easy carrying, down from £16.50 to £12.35.
And for something bigger, check out the Everyday 16 Piece BBQ Set, which contains a wire brush, set of tongs, turner, fork, eight corn forks and four skewers, all for £22.50, down from £30.
