Kitchen Trends for 2015… A Preview
The start of the New Year means a raft of fantastic new kitchen designs coming onto the market and we have a sneak preview of what’s going to be big in 2015…
RATIONAL
New for 2015 from German kitchen manufacturer Rational is ‘Future Experience’, an exciting collection of ranges, finishes and colours. My favourites are Topaz and Orchid.
The new Topaz kitchen has been created with a combination of nero ‘super’ matt and gloss acrylic glass units, which are teamed with new copper handles.
Orchid is a new kitchen colour for next year, available in both soft and high gloss lacquer. Shown here on the Onda range, which has a gently curved door, it has been applied to both the exterior and interior of the units.
SIEMATIC
Luxury German kitchen manufacturer SieMatic has unveiled the launch of a new cabinetry style and finishes. The SE3003 and S2-R feature a distinctive raised 6.5mm edge, defining the minimalist lines of the new cabinets. There are three new sophisticated metallic finishes – gold bronze, nickel and matt black – in addition to three new warm and natural wooden tones: sand oak, matt black oak and walnut. There are also three new painted shades – Titan White, Nutmeg and Umbra. And if this wasn’t enough, there’s also a feature cabinet with metal frame and 6.5mm glass slats.
CROWN IMPERIAL
Add a splash of sunshine to the kitchen with Crown Imperial’s new ultra matt Rococo collection. With its contemporary, non-reflective finish, it’s soft to the touch and extremely durable, making it the perfect fit for an open-plan family space. If this is too much for you, there are 11 additional colours to choose from, including teal blue and a warm Vino musk.
ALNO
Featuring a special new material and advanced technology, the new ALNOSTAR PURE is made from a super matt laminate that feels silky-smooth to the touch and eliminates messy fingerprints. It also incorporates the latest laser edge technology to apply edging strips without visible joins. Not only does this give a seamless join but it also means there is no penetration of dirt through the edges and visible wear and tear becomes a thing of the past.
PURO DESIGN
Head to London’s Great Portland Street for the LINEA kitchen by Puro Design, which features an interesting interplay of heights and depths both in its structure and layout. Available in a wide range of wood laminate finishes including White Elm, shown below, it’s made to order in Italy and cabinets can be created in any RAL colour with 145mm laminate tops.
CAPLE
For something more traditional, Caple has recently launched the Chester painted design with solid ash frame and veneered ash centre panel. Shown below in alabaster, baby blue and light grey, it adds subtle colour to a period setting.
BLUM
And last but by no means least, international fittings innovator Blum has developed the Aventos HK-XS lift system for effortless opening on wall units and tall cabinets, which stays where you want it to and closes with one finger. Specially designed for smaller and more compact storage areas, it uses a special Aventos arm that has a variable capability which enables you to open it to any position, where it will stay while you’re unpacking or replacing items.
