Getting into the Christmas Spirit

By

For our December story we thought we would simply bring you a beautiful selection of ideas and inspirations for Christmas homes and showrooms. It’s all about maximising what you’ve already got, and making Christmas homes and displays look abundant, generous and luxurious. Enjoy the festive season!

DRESS THE MANTELPIECE, WINDOWSEAT AND DINING TABLE WITH Lights4fun

The traditional Christmas colours are red and green, which makes it an easy task for seasonal decorators. Layer table linens and cushions, stretch pre-lit garlands along the mantelpiece, decorate the dining chairs and of course, add LED candles for focus. SOPHISTICATED XMAS KITCHEN TOUCHES FOR A DAVONPORT KITCHEN

As the kitchen is also becoming important in the seasonal decorating focus, it definitely needs some Christmas touches. Keep it low key – not enough to clutter or get in the way, but just enough to switch the seasonal vibe up a few notches. We love this dark green Holkham kitchen by Davonport

DINING TABLE ELEGANCE BY HABITAT

We apprecieate the natural elements of this Christmas dining room … lots of neutral tones with beautiful oak furniture, alongside green and gold decorations. Items here include Habitat x Morris & Co Rosehip Crewel Cushion and Habitat’s Textured Ripple Stoneware Dinner set in Sage. Chairs are Barnwell natural oak, also Habitat

UNDERSTATED DETAILS BY ARMAC MARTIN

Gold and brass finishes add a glamorous look to a kitchen project, which can be dressed up or down according to season. These handles are from the Bakes collection, designed for Armac Martin by leading kitchen designer Robert Bakes. In a wide range of finishes, included polished nickel plate, shown here in Aged Brass, with refrigerator latches and hinges also available.

A WHITE AND GOLD CHRISTMAS THEME FROM MARKS & SPENCER

One of the popular colour themes this Christmas is white and gold … perfect for homes with a strong neutral theme and for those who want to avoid too many bright or garish startling colours. Take inspiration from the Marks & Spencer Xmas tree choices here.

XMAS ART DECO INFLUENCES FROM JOHN LEWIS

From the Wisdom & Wonder Christmas theme for 2024 from John Lewis, an abundance of ivory and gold accessories create a very sophisticated scheme. Featured here, the John Lewis Piro Swivel Armchair in Cream Natural Boucle, alongside a Vintage Ornate Wood Frame Overmantle mirror and other stunning Christmas accessories, all John Lewis.

A CHRISTMAS TIDY UP IDEA FROM BRABANTIA

Are you doing a last-minute Christmas organisational swoop in anticipation of extra entertaining and the inevitable over-use of the bins?!  Consider purchasing extra help in the shape of this lovely and extremely stylish new kitchen bin from Brabantia. It’s the Bo Touch Bin in Satin Taupe, which has two inner containers, 11 and 23 litres so would be great for that half-way space between kitchen and family room, or just as an extra help for overcrowded kitchen bins.

A VERY USEFUL CHRISTMAS ACCESSORY FROM JOSEPH JOSEPH

Check your kitchen gadget drawer has all the necessary items for the Christmas rush. We love this little Rota Red Folding Knife Sharpener by Joseph Joseph. It’s easy to use, safe to store and will ensure that all the festive kitchen prep will go smoothly.

CUTTING IT FINE WITH VINERS

If you need to top up the knife drawer –  in anticipation of extra help at the prep station – consider buying a rather useful set of three knives, The Assure 3 Piece Prep Set from Viners. These knives have square tips, which are a great safety feature and consist of a Beak Peeling Knife, a Utility Knife and a Serrated Paring knife. The Beak Peeling knife is designed to peel fruit and veg skins.

A SPEEDY CHRISTMAS DECORATION IDEA BY GISELA GRAHAM

If you don’t have the time or inclination to set up a Christmas tree, some carefully chosen baubles and decorations can still be distributed throughout the home to provide a festive air. We love the idea of baubles stacked into transparent glass vases, presented in bowls or carefully arranged on charger plates or small trays. Festive but not intrusive! These gorgeous baubles are from a stunning selection available from Gisela Graham.

IRRIDESCENT STARS FOR A FESTIVE DISPLAY FROM MARKS & SPENCER

We’re finishing our Christmas presentation with a stunning styling suggestion from Marks & Spencer. A luxurious 6ft Lit Fir tree, Iridescent Stars, and an array of striped and chequerboard baubles, all from the collections at Marks & Spencerwill help create your perfect Christmas displays.
