THE NEW DOMUS HOSTING KITCHEN IN COLLABORATION WITH ROUNDHOUSE AND DESIGNED BY WOULFE

The Domus Hosting Kitchen opened last month, and this newly curated area within the Domus Battersea showroom can be used to host social gatherings and educational events for designers and architects. In collaboration with Roundhouse Design and the Designed by Woulfe design studio, the space is a timely and beautiful environment which was created to accommodate an array of design-led occasions, from discussions and networking events to parties, dinners, social events and so on.

THE HOSTING KITCHEN FEATURES DOMUS YAMUNA PORCELAIN SURFACES

The Hosting Kitchen, by Roundhouse Design is a fully-operational, beautifully equipped kitchen which is the focal point of this space. It showcases porcelain slabs by Tailor-made+, including Domus Yamuna which is featured on the kitchen work surfaces, splashback and on the island surface. The kitchen is intended to be used for live cooking demonstrations, with plenty of space for audience interaction and engagement. The latest cutting-edge appliances are by Gaggenau.

THE HOSTING KITCHEN LEADS INTO A COSY BAR AREA, ALSO SUITED TO RELAXED MEETINGS AND EVENTS

The bar area, also created by Roundhouse Design, features work surfaces from Domus Eccentric Luxe Caramel slabs by Tailor-made+. This area is suited to smaller events such as breakfast meetings or cocktail masterclasses. Every detail exudes comfort and feels welcoming, with a bespoke banquette handmade by Lyndon, the bespoke upholstery specialists, using Romo fabric. The coffee table is also a specially made item, using Domus porcelain slabs.

THE BAR AREA WITH GAGGENAU WINE FRIDGE AND QUOOKER TAP

The bar area is ready for action with a spacious Gaggenau Wine Fridge and Quooker tap, all part of the extensive renovation of the Domus Battersea Showroom – which originally opened in 2004 – and now enjoys this major revamp. Jon Newey, CEO of Domus said ‘We wanted to create a space that offers clients rich and engaging content, whether they choose to experience it in person or online. Our collaborations with Roundhouse Design, Designed by Woulfe and our other partners has resulted in this dynamic new environment where we can deliver thought-provoking events that educate and inspire the architecture and design community – a mission that has been at the heart of Domus since its’ inception’.

THE SPECTACULAR ECCENTRIC LUXE MAGNUM BACK PANEL FOR THE BAR AREA

The lightweight porcelain slab used for the work surface and splashback is Eccentric Luxe Magnum from Domus, capturing the glamour and luxury of onyx. It’s a porcelain slab by Florim with a sustainable approach, part of their CarbonZero selection of Climate-Positive surfaces.

THE TREASURE TROVE OF TILES AND SURFACES WITHIN THE DOMUS BATTERSEA SHOWROOM

THE SCULPTURAL OPERA KITCHEN BY MASSIMO CASTAGNA AT HENGE

This dramatic kitchen is Opera, designed by Massima Castagna at Henge. The bold and striking marble is used to give a unique look to volumes and proportions whilst still embracing space above and below. It can be used with Bora and Gaggenau work surface hobs and extraction appliances.

THE OPERA DETAILS IN STONE …

The Opera drawers have a matt black plywood carcass, with drawers in heat-treated plywood with soft open and close mechanisms, available in Oak Thermo Wood and Swamp Olive Ash. Accessories can include metal trays, draining boards and stainless steel bins.

UNDERNEATH THE ARCHES WITH OPERA FROM HENGE

The Opera kitchen can look discreet or dramatic, depending upon it’s setting. Fantastical lighting and creative arched structures bring extra drama to this gorgeous layout.

TOP TABLE DRAMA FROM HENGE

If you’re looking for unusual and surprising table ideas, the  Gotham Evo tables at Henge are likely to provoke interest. Designed by  Ugo Cacciatori, these tables have extra-clear glass tops, with a Sand Cast Peltro base. Each item is individually made, so variations in the marble, metal or wood mean that no two are ever identical. Definitely worth a visit…
