deVOL’s South London Shaker kitchen

We were bowled over by this beautiful Shaker kitchen from deVOL. This project is part of a family home in a pretty area in South London and features two new deVOL colours – Princelet Pink and Wilkes Green.

The room has an air of grandeur to it, despite not being huge. The tall ceilings, ornate coving, large wide planks and now some beautiful and impeccably-made furniture, it has all come together to create a space that feels really impressive yet welcoming at the same time.

Made in its workshops in Leicestershire, this modular range has an almost chameleon-like quality that allows homeowners to add their own character and style to a beautifully simple collection of hand-painted cupboards.

There are so many special details in this kitchen. From the huge sash window to the Calacatta Monet marble that tops the Shaker cabinetry, this pale stone and its crazy veining adds so much character and glamour to the room. The pink Zellige tiles on the cooker run meanwhile create the prettiest splashback and pair so perfectly with the soft pink cupboards and brass rail.

HUSK stays on top of colourful trend

Bristol-based HUSK has been making affordable custom door fronts and premium worktops designed to work with Ikea or Howdens kitchen units since 2018. The company now offers a range of contemporary wood and ply fronts in a variety of finishes and a bespoke collection of 35 colourful laminate fronts and all are handmade by the HUSK team to order.

“We are seeing a clear upward trend towards striking hues as clients become more adventurous with colour,” says Dave Young, founder of HUSK. “Our clients are opting for strong tones to make a statement and inject some excitement into their kitchen designs.
